Reflection and idea development

In reflection to my research I have done, my ideas have changed from the start of my research to now. Research into camerawork

Image
These are the simple camera shots that all films use multiple times throughout they're films. They are all affective for different reasons, for example and extreme long shot can be used to show the location, extreme close up can be used to show a characters emotions and facial expressions very clearly.  I will be using a lot if not all of these shots in my film as they're all effective and can be used at different times. I have watched films to help me know what type of camera shot is most effective at what time. There are also more camera shots then this that are not as basic but still very effective, therefore I will be using some of them. For example cutaways, two-shot, over the shoulder shot, POV shot, these are shots that will also be good and useful to use in my thriller.

Steve Neale Genre theory

Steve Neale Genre theory  Neale believes that films of a type (genre, like romance or horror) should include features that are similar, so the audience know it is a horror film or romance, but also include features that are different, to keep an audience interested. This is his theory of repetition and difference. In his words “genres are instances of repetition and difference.” He believes that difference is essential as if there is no difference the audience will not attract the audience. Genres are created through repetition and recognition which lead to expectation and anticipation https://guilsboroughschoolmedia.wordpress.com/2017/08/26/steve-neale-genre/
