Audience reflection

 In reflection, my target audiences ages will mostly range from 15-18, meaning I should base my thriller on interests of teenagers and what conventions they like in a thriller. 

The gender is a 50/50 split meaning I should include what both men and woman like to see in a thriller. This is a good thing as I can base my thriller on more of a range of sub genres. 4 out of 5 people are male who are 15-18 years, however from 35+ most are female, this means that my thriller should be based on males between ages 15-23. I should consider what both male and female audiences like to see in thriller films

I asked this question of 'what ethnic group are you in?' to find out the demographics of my audience. The majority of my audience are white or Asian/ Asian British. Meaning I could include conventions from British and Asian thriller films.

I asked these two questions to see what social grade my audience 

fits into. My audience has a wide range of industries they work in such as, education and health industry. The question of 'what is your job role?' gave me a more detailed answer into what social grade they are in. This information will help me base my thriller on what is relevant to them and what they might be able to find similarities within their life and the thriller. 

 

 

This question gave me a lot of information on what my audiences looks for in a thriller. Suspense and plot twists seems to be the main feature they like to see in a thriller. This has given me an idea of what I should be including in my thriller so my audience will enjoy it. My thriller should include suspense and a plot twist.

Asking my audience what their all time favourite thriller has given me an idea of what thriller conventions I can use in my thriller. The most popular is Se7en however there is a wide range of favourite thrillers. I can use peoples favourite thrillers and include small parts of them all into my thriller.   

The majority of my target audience prefer a psychological sub-genre with a thriller. Meaning I should try and make my thriller psychological. This has given me an idea of what sub-genre I should be using.
