Location Scout

I have looked and evaluated a few different locations as to where we could potentially film our Thriller. After looking at these different locations we will pick which ones will suit our thriller the best and make it the best it can be.

Woods:

The first location we looked at was some woods. These woods would work well for our thriller as it agrees  with the conventions and characteristics of a thriller and will help the audience to get more of a creepy feel. Woods can also be a good location to film as it is a quiet place, meaning there will be no extra sound when filming. The woods is mysterious and we can have several ideas that involve the woods. However, a problem we found with the woods is that it can be hard to always get good natural lighting making it hard to film.

Graveyard:

Another possible location we looked at was a graveyard. A graveyard is a good location to film the thriller as it has that scary and eery aspect about it. It would really draw the audience in to what is happening and make them feel as if anything could happen any minute, giving them a sense if suspense. A problem we found with filming with a graveyard was that it was going to be hard to get permission to film there and it could be seen as disrespectful.

Empty Building:

We looked at an empty building as another possible location. This location looked quite promising as it allowed us to work in a very open space. This empty building would also give the audience the feel of isolation and vulnerability which was want we want them to feel when their watching the thriller. We would use this location as the place where the killer attempts to kill his victims.

Long Driveway:

Another possible location that we looked at was a long driveway. This driveway would be good for our thriller because it is a good place we can have the motorbike chase. It allows us to follow the motorbikes with a drone. A long driveway will also give the audience a mysterious feel about the thriller.

For our thriller we decided to use an empty building, outside the empty building and a pathway which led to a dead end. The reason we chose these locations over the others is because they were more easy to access and easier to film around. The empty building gives off the feeling of isolation, as with the amount of room in the building anything can happen. The empty building is better then the other locations we could have chose as it is easier to film due to no members of public being in the way and no extra noise involved. We got permission to use the building by our friend whose house it was.
