My top 5 thrillers

 My top 5 thrillers

Hush is one of my favourites. It includes a woman that is deaf and can't speak, which leaves the audience on edge and integer guessing what she is thinking and guessing her next actions as she tries too fight for her life. The fact that she is deaf and unable to speak makes her very vulnerable to the masked killer. In my opinion the characters in hush shows it is a thriller. I will use ideas from hush such as a vulnerable person trying to fit off an assassin in my piece as I think it is affective and can create some good ideas around those two character types.

The platform is about prisoners who are housed in vertical cells watch as their inmates from the upper cells are fed while those below starve. The platform starts at the top with a full table of food, but as the platform goes down, there is less and less food. I like this film as it is more of a psychological thriller, which is different to most other thriller movies. It also represents real life aspects such as hunger, starvation, selfishness and more. It includes a different language which makes it more tense and makes the audience ask more questions when watching the film.

Jaws is a film that includes a shark as the antagonist. From this film it has an iconic background noise when the shark is about to strike. This gives me ideas and shows how simple sound can be so effective, as jaws is such a famous film and in my opinion the music/sound is the reason why. It also makes people remember whenever they hear the sound of the film. I can use sound in my thriller scene to make it memorable.

Jurassic park is a film where the dinosaurs are the antagonist. I like this film as it is different to others as it includes dinosaurs that no human being alive has seen ever before, this gives the audience more of an insight what dinosaurs could have been like when they existed. The camera angles and edit cuts really stand out in this film, which I can take into consideration when making my thriller scene.

I like the joker as the antagonist is a scary, crazy man who has a likeable personality even though he is the antagonist. From this film I can take an idea of the type of character I chose to use, as I think if the character is likeable you are more likely to enjoy and remember the film.
