Deconstruction of media thriller

I have chosen to deconstruct an A level media thriller called ' Silenced'. Silenced starts with quick pace piano music which makes the audience feel tense and curious to what is going to happen and why is it going to happen. The camera then cuts to a POV shot of him putting down a newspaper and picking up a paper that says ' missing person' on it. This is effective as it shows the audience what might of happened and builds the intensity. When he picks up the paper the camera cuts to an extreme close shot that pans up very slowly bottom to top. This reveals to the audience slowly what the paper says and gives us information about the missing person. While all this is happening they're credits with names in the bottom left corner. The next shot is of the missing person who is sitting down at a table, it is a medium shot and while this is going on the missing girl is getting told off by a background voice saying stuff like ' how would you feel if I tormented you?' Which signifies to the audience that the 'missing girl' has done something wrong and she may not be innocent. After this scene it leads to a woman screaming in fear and all we can see is a black screen, the sound of her screaming is a bit muffled as if she has something covering her mouth, the man then opens the boot where the women is in, it is a trunk shot which is a feature of Tarantino movies. The boot then shuts again and it cuts to a black screen. We then see an extreme close up of what looks to be the women's face her mouth is shaking and a tear is falling down her face, this shows that she is scared. As the man gets out the car the camera focuses on his feet as there is another extreme close up shot of is shoes. The man is slowly walking to the boot where the women is in. He grabs a plastic bag which the audience will be thinking has a body in, he throws the bag into  lake but as he does that the screen turns black but we hear a splash sound as if he did chuck the plastic bag in. The entire video is in black and white and in my opinion that is to create the mood that the video gives out such as sad, moody etc.

From this I have learned that background music is key, as throughout most of this there is a piano playing. This is important as it keeps the audience focused and intrigued and cuts out the silence which can make it boring. In this video there are a lot of camera shots used which shows us how effective and important it is to switch up the type of camera shots. The colour we use can create the mood of our video as in this video they use black and white throughout which creates the mood. This is important as the mood can help tell the audience the genre or genres of the films.
